Geographical Location of Delhi

Situated on the banks of river Yamuna, Delhi is located at 28.38° N and 77.13° E on the northern part of India. Considered to be a part of the Aravalli Range, major part of Delhi is a plain area or Bhangar which is very fertile. The plains can be divided into Delhi, New Delhi and Delhi Cantonment. The other regions of Delhi namely the Yamuna plains are flood-prone while the ridge which is the most dominating feature in this region is surrounded by the Aravallis.

Delhi comprises of 200 villages which are heavily populated. Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are two neighbors of Delhi. They have a strong influence on the culture and lifestyle of the people of Delhi. Yamuna is an important river in Delhi which fertilizes the alluvial soil.
