The Mughal Garden

The famous Mughal Garden is located in the premises
of the Rashtrapati Bhawan. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. This beautiful garden constitutes water fountains, European flowerbeds and artificial lakes.
The garden is open to visitors in the spring month from February to March.
Lodi Gardens

This is one of the most well maintained
gardens in
the city. Its fountains, ponds, flowering trees, blossoming shrubs and artificial streams are the prime attractions of this garden. You can also see several old structures insidethe garden. The Bara Gumbad (Big Dome), a mosque built in 1494 is located in the middle, surrounded by other
architectural structures like Sheesh Gumbad (
Glass Dome), Mohammad Shah's Tomb and Sikander Lodi's tomb. This is a place for the joggers and nature lovers.
Shalimar Garden

This garden is of historical importance as Aurangzeb was crowned here in 1658. Situated 10 kms North West of old Delhi, this is a prime natural spotof the city. Previously the garden was known as 'Aizzabad-Bagh and believed to be built by Shah Jahan and named after his wife 'Aizzu'n-Nisa Begam. Aurangzeb used it as his country-house. In the centreof the garden a palace called Shish Mahal is situated; now partially damaged.
Nehru Park
The park is situated near the Panchsheel Road, next to Chanakya Puri diplomatic enclave. It has been named after Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime minister of India. Spread over an area of 80 acres, the park is a beautiful place with large collection of floral trees, little mounds and rocks. The special attractionof the park is the “Morning Ragas”- the musical events that are organized every Sunday morning. Renowned musicians and singers come to this place to give their performances. In recent days the DTTDC is conducting free Yoga Classes to keep the inmatesof the city healthy and pure.
Buddha Jayanti Park

This wooded park was founded to commemorate the 2500th annivarsery of Lord Buddha’s “Parinirvana”. A sapling of the original 'Bodi' tree (tree of enlightenment) was brought from Sri Lanka and was planted here. It is a forested area with flowers and lawns; also an ideal place for a picnic.
National Zoological Park

The National Zoological Park or the Delhi Zoo is situated near the Old Fort. It is spread over an area of 214 acres and has 22,000 species of animals, birds and plants. The zoo has a serene environment where you can get the opportunity to engulf the natural flora and fauna. The entry point is located near Mughal Kos Minar. The zoo has several species of animals like the Gir Lion, Zebras, Spider Monkeys and Chimpanzees. This zoo provides a very good travel facility to the tourists. There are open roof mobile
vans available for traveling inside the zoo and several good picnic spots.
Asola Bhatti Wild Life Sanctuary

The Asola Bhatti wild life sanctuary is located at the southern extreme of Delhi. It has two entrance points. The main one is located close to Surajkund area and another from the direction of Chhatarpur and Bhatti area. The popular wildlife species found here are the Nilgai or Blue Bull, Common Mongoose, Small Indian Civet, Small Indian Mongoose, Jungle Cat, Flying Fox, Porcupine, Palm Squirrel, Spiny tailed Lizards, Rufus Tailed Hare and Monitor Lizards. This densely forested areaof the city attracts visitors to discover the greener part of the city.
